Making special images

Compounding images is one method to make an impression in your brochures and pamphlets. This is an image we've done for a client who sells toupees. He asked for an impact on the cover. We proposed this to express the quality of products, "if a gust of wind blows, the toupee doesn't go away".

STEP1:Photographing at studio

First, we decided the angle and fixed the position of the camera. Then we took two photos of the model; one is just a model's sitting style, the other is her hair fluttering in the wind using a hair drier. Finally, we put one upon another, then this image ( a wind blowing from a mirror ) was completed.

STEP2:Designing

We make good use of every effects of Illustrator and Photoshop, Photo editing and touchups are all readily available. In this case, we altered the colours of the photo.

STEP3:Drawing a parachute

A parachute was drawn. The joint area of a chair was also drawn by a great illustrator. We separate this picture in three parts: joint, parachute, and string. That way, we can modify it easily if any changes are necessary.

STEP4:Final layout

In the end, the design was set into the cover’s predetermined cover layout, and the client was very happy with the outcome.
